It is an opportune year to unveil the Bank’s brand refresh with its new logo and brand identity in the Annual Report. As the Bank has set upon itself to lead the digital revolution, it has evolved its brand promise and brand attributes. Its brand promise has gone beyond “Smart Banking” to “Powering the Future of Banking”. From just being Relevant, the Bank has transitioned to being Forward-Thinking and Innovative, anticipating the future by creating it. It may not always be the expert in all things, so the Bank needs to be Open – open to new ideas, new partnerships, and new business models. The Bank must also go beyond Challenging Convention and adopt an Agile way of life – quick to adapt and unafraid to fail before it succeeds, allowing the Bank to create the future instead of waiting for it to happen. The Annual Report reads like a magazine, which is the format that best works in telling stories about the Bank’s financial conditions and performance, clients, employees and programs. The new brands colors were used to represent the Bank’s attributes and aspirations — orange is vibrant and approachable, representing its friendly and dynamic characteristics, and symbolizing innovation and vitality; gray is strong, stable and contemporary; tangerine depicts maturity, stability, and strength – a dominant color interspersed throughout the Annual Report. Challenging convention photography was also utilized to be consistent with the Bank’s branding. All pages in the report were printed on Oji New Generation Matte Art Card 300 gsm Paper for the covers, Oji New Generation Matte Art 150 gsm Paper/Woodfree UPM 120 gsm Paper for the inside pages. All said papers are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certified papers, and are printed with non-petroleum-based Soy Inks.
