• Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

    Animated Film

    Random42 Scientific Communication (United Kingdom)

    Project Title: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Client or Class Name: AstraZeneca - https://www.astrazeneca.com

The animation highlights the role of type 1 interferon signalling in the pathogenesis of Lupus, an autoimmune disease where the body’s own immune system attacks healthy tissue. It begins by showing how the improper clearance of cellular debris can stimulate the immune system and lead to the production of type 1 interferons which promote dendritic cell maturation and result in the generation of auto-reactive T cells. We then show how Anifrolumab which targets the type-interferon receptor maybe used to reduce autoimmunity in Lupus. This animation was created for healthcare professionals and is currently being used globally to support the Anifrolumab program.
