Project Title: Porto Ferreira – Waterloo Vintage 1815
Client or Class Name: Porto Ferreira (Sogrape Vinhos) - www.sograpevinhos.com/marcas/Porto%20Ferreira
Omdesign, a Portuguese advertising agency, created and produced all of the packaging for the famous “Waterloo Vintage”, which was aged for two centuries in the Porto Ferreira cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.
The packaging is unique, exclusive and highly luxurious, with silver, exotic wood and natural leather. Inside this totally handcrafted packaging is a bottle of Porto Ferreira Vintage 1815, accompanied by a book and a certificate of authenticity for this rarity.
This special edition was auctioned in London by Sotheby’s last May and went down in history as the most expensive Vintage ever auctioned. All of the proceeds went to APELA (the Portuguese amyotrophic lateral sclerosis association). This auction confirms the solidarity of Sogrape Vinhos, the company that owns the Porto Ferreira brand, in line with the values and essence of the brand which has shown deep social and charitable concerns since its origin, causes which were always advocated by the founder, Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira.
The “Waterloo Vintage”, thus named by English connoisseurs, is an extraordinary Port and one of the oldest. It was produced in the same year that the 1st Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon’s army at the Battle of Waterloo.
This Port has already been marketed under the “Luxury of Time” concept and identity, entirely designed by Omdesign, reflecting the new and exclusive luxury positioning that Porto Ferreira took its inspiration from, having the patience to wait until now to launch it on the market.
