Project Title: Poppy Tampons and Pads
Client or Class Name: Packaging 1 - Miami Ad School @ Portfolio Center - https://portfoliocenter.edu

Poppy is a line of tampons and pads that was born out of the market’s desperate need for feminine products that are marketed towards 12-14 year olds. I wanted the packaging to be discrete on the outside, but fun and welcoming on the inside. That’s why I chose for the symbol of this brand to be sunglasses. For most people, sunglasses are either used as a disguise or as an accessory, which is why I believed them to be the perfect fit for Poppy. The pattern on the lens of the sunglasses is what lines the inside of the packaging. The main item of this trio is the starter pack. This box contains one box of pads, one box of tampons, a book about period health, and a sticker set. This box can be kept and refilled with the other two products in the trio, the refill tampon pack and the refill pad pack. This starter pack is fully customizable for the girl as she can choose to refill it with only tampons, only pads, or one of each. The refill packs can be easily re-closed and taken out of the starter pack to be thrown in a gym bag or a suitcase. For the refill packs, the pattern on the inside of them lens mimics the shape of the feminine hygiene product. The language on the back of the products, as well as in the book on period health, was carefully considered and tailored towards girls 12-14.
