Project Title: Hong Kong Fashion Week (Fall/Winter Edition) 2016
Client or Class Name: Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) - www.hktdc.com
Two areas were offered by the fair organizer to elevate the image of the 2016 Hong Kong Fashion Week trade show into a marketing event,. First, at the venue’s main foyer a title signage/ installation to welcome visitors was required. Followed by, a multi-purpose area of 3700 sq. ft. located inside the core exhibition hall to facilitate various fashion parades, cocktail receptions and general resting/ refreshment space.
The concept “Fashion of Music” was created to stimulate a fun and dynamic ambience for the fashion industry representatives. The intention for choosing music mixed with fashion was to make a statement on the symbiotic relationship that co-exists between these two intertwining creative disciplines in modern culture.
Located at the main foyer, a title signage installation was erected at 15ft. high by 30ft wide transmitted stylized and striking images of various musical genres on a monolithic LED panel. A music band was silhouetted against a 5ft high lit Broadway style lettering with the words “Fashion of Music” to heighten the visitor’s first impression.
Inside the core exhibition hall, the multi-purpose communal area named the “Music Station” featured random music related props juxtaposed against bold disc-like graphics flooring reminiscent of a CD or vinyl record, which defined the central fashion catwalk. The overall layout was open and inviting to create interaction in this communal space.
